About Bellalina Mermaids
Bellalina Mermaids was founded in 2007 by Renee Chidiac as a fun hobby and is now Australia’s largest performing Mermaid company.
After watching the movie Splash with Daryl Hannah as the gorgeous mermaid when I was a young girl and from that day on, I have always dreamt of being a mermaid. When I had my own children, I wanted to show them that there was magic in the world and what better way to do that, than to have a Mermaid as a Mum!
My journey to becoming a mermaid started with me finding a prosthetics and prop maker in Queensland who eventually agreed to make me a mermaid tail. I then decided to test the tail out at a local beach in Sydney, and could not believe the attention I received that day,
One week later, I was employed to do a Hungry Jacks commercial and my Mermaid journey began. From there I was asked to perform at the Silverton Casino in Las Vegas and shows bi-annually at SeaWorld Australia and my mermaid tails have appeared in films, commercials and music video clips worldwide.
